Preferences

All new members should set their preferences.

First, look at the navigation bar and click on the "my preferences" link.

You will be given two choices. You can change your password to something you can remember (but please make it a good, secure password!). And you can change your personal preferences.

When you click on "Personal Preferences" you will see the panel shown below. Fill in the whole thing. Your email address is used in case you ever forget your password. If you select "Editing of Short Names", then each time you create new content you can choose the URL of your content. If you unselect it, the system picks for you.

You can also upload your picture. Make sure you use one that's already the right size or it might look funny!

When you are ready, click **Save**.
